Shane McGee Foundation Announces Scholarship Winners
Krista Marti & Jessica Satinoff

Pembroke Pines, FL - The Shane McGee Foundation is pleased to announce that high school seniors Krista Marti and Jessica Satinoff are this year's recipients of the Shane McGee Foundation Memorial Scholarship. Krista is a student at Fort Lauderdale High School, and Jessica attends Cooper City High School.

"The Shane McGee Foundation Memorial Scholarship assists deserving students, interested in the field of law, in continuing their education and obtaining a degree," added Foundation Board Member and retired teacher Robert McGee. "The scholarships, each in the amount of $5,000, will be paid directly to the college of their choice."

Students from Flanagan High School, Pembroke Pines Charter High School, McArthur High School, Cooper City High School, Fort Lauderdale High School, Hollywood Hills High School, Monarch High School, Nova High School, Western High School and Coral Springs High School were invited to participate. Applicants were required to submit a form that included a three 200-word questions, a 500-word essay and letters of recommendation from school faculty, community service organizations, and/or an employer.

"We are thrilled to award the scholarships to Krista and Jessica, both of whom have bright futures," said Foundation Board Member Constance McGee. "In our third year of sponsoring this scholarship program, we are quite happy with the response that we have received from schools and their students, in addition to the quality of the students that applied."

Krista and Jessica will be recognized in a special ceremony during the Broward County Bar Association's Law Day Luncheon. The students will be joined by Foundation members, judges, and local attorneys for lunch. The luncheon takes place on Friday, May 1, 2008, at the Tower Club (1 Financial Plaza - 100 SE 3rd Avenue, 28th Floor, in Fort Lauderdale). After lunch, the winning students will received an exclusive tour of the courthouse, escorted by a Broward County judge.
